TITLE: Server
REPORTS TO: Manager on Duty

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Server ensures that the customer's experience is of the highest quality by providing a warm, caring and sincere approach in meeting the needs of each customer and employee. The Server is an enthusiastic individual who champions the definition of "great service" by making the customer feel comfortable from the moment he walks in the door.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Responsible for coordinating efforts of both the restaurant and kitchen personnel to provide a dining experience that meets or exceeds guest's expectations.
• Prepares the dining tables according to specified set up.
• Demonstrates knowledge and uses salesmanship skills in answering customer's questions and making recommendations regarding:
o Menu items and daily food specials
o Promotional and/or discount programs
o Company-produced beer selections
o Wine selections
o Distilled spirits and cocktail recipes
• Processes guest's orders using the Aloha POS to ensure all items are prepared properly and on a timely basis.
• Gives constant attention to diners to ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service, responds to additional requests, and determines when the meal has been completed.
• Delivers customer's food to the tables and refills beverages.
• Assists busser with stocking, removing and resetting dishes and silverware between courses and cleaning and resetting vacated tables.
• Accurately totals bill and accepts payment for meal.
• Performs side work (including filling napkin and utensil bins, menu wipe down, filling salt and pepper shakers, garnish prep, cleaning of restaurant floors and tables, etc.)
• Other duties as may be assigned.
• Adheres to company policies and procedures.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum of 1+ years of serving experience.
• Must be able to speak clearly and listen attentively to guests and other employees.
• Must be able to read and write to facilitate communication.
• Must be able to work day, evening or a combination of shifts on weekends and/or public holidays.
• Must be able to work independently, as well as part of a team
• Strong organization and multi-tasking responsibilities and remains calm under pressure.
• Knowledgeable about the liquor laws and works in compliance with those laws.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Stand and exert well-paced mobility for long periods.
• Reach, bend, and stoop and frequently handle and lift up to 50 pounds.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• 21 years or older.
• Current food handler's permit.
• Current Alcohol Certification Certificate.
