Squatters and Wasatch Beer's West Side Tavern and Beer Store is currently hiring for a Bartender/Customer Service position. 

The West Side Tavern is full service bar offering a small menu working out of a kitchen which is operated by all bartending staff. 



The Bartender directly serves and interacts with customers and exudes a genuine enjoyment of people.  Provides friendly and efficient food and beverage service to guests.  


  • Fills alcoholic and non-alcoholic drink orders from tavern guests. 
  • Fulfills all food orders from guests including preperation of all menu items.
  • Accurately uses the Aloha POS to place all food and beverage orders. 
  • Checks identification of customers seated at the bar, to ensure they meet the minimum age requirement for the purchase of alcohol products.
  • Uses salesmanship skills in answering customer's questions and making recommendations regarding the menu, company-produced beers and other beverages offered.  
  • Prepares a wide range of drink recipes accurately, quickly, and without waste.
  • Stocks and prepares garnishes for drinks.
  • Anticipates the customer's needs; frequently checks on customer satisfaction and preferences, keeping a current guest check in front of all active guests. 
  • Collects payment, operates the cash register, washes glassware and utensils, and wipes down the refrigerator. 
  • Maintains an adequate supply of ice, glasses, and other bar supplies.
  • Arranges bottles and glasses on shelves.
  • Keeps the bar area clean, organized and presentable to customers and observes occupational health and safety, and security procedures.
  • Pre-bussing guests tables from food and drinks with frequent check backs. 
  • Maintain a positive attitude with guests and co-workers, engaging with the regulars to maintain relationships. 
  • Follows company policies and procedures.


Summary of Beer Store Customer Service Responsibilities:

The Beer Store Customer Service Representative is responsible for supporting and participating in the smooth operations and sales within the store while offering authentic and welcoming customer service to all guests.  

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Greet customers upon entering the Beer Store
  • Assist customers with purchases through answering questions on products and offering product suggestions both in person and over the phone
  • Receive and process cash, check and charge/credit payments through Aloha POS system
  • Maintain a professional and welcoming attitude with customers, co-workers and management
  • Remain knowledgeable on Utah State liquor laws and ensure continued compliance is adhered to by both employees and customers
  • Maintaining organization of the sales floor, ensuring adequate stock and consistancy in merchandise on display
  • Obtain knowledge of all UBC products including seasonal beers, Brew Master Specials and ongoing beer offerings
  • Make suggestions and encourage purchase of products
  • Process merchandise exchanges and returns
  • Stay current with sales prices


  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and processes
  • Bartending and or serving experience preferred
  • Experience in a retail, customer service or sales environment
  • Good communication skills
  • Outgoing and inviting personality
  • Patience
  • High energy level
  • Integrity


  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Must obtain a valid Food Handlers Permit and Sips and Tips Certification
  • Ability to work flexible work schedule, including weekends and evenings
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time, up to 10 hours per day
  • Ability to lift, bend, reach, twist and turn
